25th plus High School Reunion:
Saturday Day Event
July 18, 2009
We are currently rescheduling the day events for our 25th reunion to the next summer in 2009.
The day event currently being planned is incorporating a fundraising event called the Sumter High Class of 1983 Heart & Home Walk Run 5K, which we plan to take place Saturday, July 18, 2009. It will begin with the registration period from 8am & the walk will begin at 8:30am, which will be immediately followed by a cook out, music, & fun! We will have a cook out outside, DJ, some inflatable fun items which will include some cool water fun. We will conclude with a memorial & dedication from 12:30 until 1:30pm.
This event will be open not only to all classmates and Sumter High, but will be open to the whole Sumter community. We want to encourage our classmates, high school, and community to "Get Moving" toward better health while raising funds that will benefit our class, our Alma mater, and our SC American Heart Association, which helps our community as a whole.
We have regretably lost several classmates to heart disease, and want to put the power to save a life in the in the hands of each particpant to help save as many lives of our classmates and community members by applying the first $29.95 of each sponsorship money from the sponosorship form donation to the American Heart Association to provide each participant with a Family & Friends CPR Anytime personal learning kit. Wiht these kits your whole family can learn the lifesaving skill of CPR at home in about 20 minutes. So, the next time this life saving skill is needed, they will be prepared to save a life.
We want to provide a healthy event, that will bring us together as a community and benefit us all, while we raise funds and have fun together at the same time.
