This page is where our reunion events are listed for Sumter High Class of 1983 to keep our class informed.

Our reunion from 2008 was postpone due to the economic situation that began last summer. Therefore, we have rescheduled the events for our 25th reunion to this coming summer 2009.

25th Plus High School Reunion:
Saturday Day Event
July 18, 2009

Memorial Service

The day event currently being planned is a Memorial Service for our classmates lost to us since we graduated from Sumter High School.
Reverend Joseph Johnson and Reverend James Grubb will be presenting this memorial service between 10 am and Noon.

We regrettably have lost many classmates, and would like to recognize them and their families at a memorial service and dedication of two benches from our class, which will be placed in the court yard of SHS in their honor.

This event will be held at Sumter High School, 2580 Mccrays Mill Rd Sumter, SC 29154, in the main commons area with a brief tour of the school for those who would like to do so after the service and dedication. Dress casually in regular comfortable clothing.

Sumter High Class of 1983 Reunion Dinner Dance

"Who says you can't go home" Saturday, July 18th, a Dinner Dance will be held at Carolina Skies at Shaw Air Force Base from 6PM - 10PM. Jon Bon Jovi said it best and why not "come home and have a great time!" So, get ready to "dress to the max" and join the party! (This is a semi-formal/dressy evening attire event...classy cocktail dress, regular knee length dress, Tea length dress, or even long length dress, if you choose, for women. Suit jacket/blazer with dress shirts, with/without tie, and suit pants/slacks for men, or even a tux if you choose. No jeans please! This isn't a casual affair.)

Reception with light hors d'oeurves and punch at 6PM.
Limelite Photography will be taking professional photos of classmates and guests as well as group photos.
Dinner Buffet with tea and coffee (Cash bar will be provided -- due to liabilities.)
Party Time DJ's lights, large screen showcasing pictures from the past and the day event, and don't forget the great music we grew up with. We have a lot of dancing fun and prizes, so make sure you wear your dancing shoes!!!

Farewell Breakfast

We realize that this is not a long weekend so Sunday will be a travel day for some classmates. Sunday, July 19th, we will be inviting anyone who wishes to get together for early morning breakfast and a chance to say farewell. Place: Golden Coral & Time: 7:00 - 9:00AM.

*This event is not covered in our registration costs. Each person will pay for themselves and their guests. Children are welcome to this event.

Dress in normal casual clothes for travel, or church clothes for church after breakfast. We will all be here to say farewell, not to impress anyone.
